Individual Therapy

My approach is relational and psychodynamic. This means that, within the space of a responsive and engaged relationship, we will be reflective as well as interactive. In our work together, you can anticipate that as we tend to the problems of the here-and-now as well as consider, and get curious in, aspects of your history.  My experience has led me to believe that this type of work leads to meaningful change.

If you are interested in my services, feel free to contact me to discuss the ways in which we may work together.

Areas of speciality and interest include:

  • Relationship Issues. Feelings of isolation, communication problems, anger management and stress and disconnection in relationships.
  • Identity. Concerns related to sense of self, including being mixed race and bi-cultural.
  • Anxiety and Mood. Feelings of overwhelm, work-related stress, perfectionism, depression, low self-esteem, and obsessive thoughts.
  • Grief & Loss. Mourning, feeling preoccupied and distraught in response to loss.
  • Career Concerns. Work-life balance, including feeling desire to become more embodied in your career of choice.

I provide clinical consultation for therapists and therapists-in-training who are interested in developing a deeper understanding of socio-cultural dynamics within clinical work. My belief is that the way identities are held and reflected in the cultural surround is an impactful and meaningful relationship. I use the term 'relationship' broadly, and hold that it encompasses both interpersonal and intrapsychic dynamics. It is my belief that this trifecta of understanding: socio-cultural awareness, emotional histories and psychological development, can provide a prism in which effective treatment can occur. I provide clinical consultation such that clinicians can further understand the experiences of their clients through a culturally responsive and psychodynamic lens.

Please feel free to contact me if you would like to set-up a brief phone meeting to discuss ways in which we may work together.
